Manuel Turizo (full name Manuel Turizo Zapata) is an urbano and reggaeton singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colombia whose trademark is his smooth buttery tenor singing voice. The Latin popular music scene has been affected by his global impact. The hit song from 2016 Una Lady Como Tu was winner of the Colombian Kids Choice Award for Most Popular Song in 2017. His debut album was a long-player ADN to the local Sony distributor in Medellin La Industria Inc. The album climbed to number 8 within the Top Latin Albums Chart. Vaina Loca was an instant Top Five hit for Ozuna and for him in the following year. He collaborated alongside Noriel on Mala Influencia in the year 2020, and next year, dropped his sophomore album charting Dopamina. In 2021, he sang an duet with TINI's popular song Maldita Foto. He appeared in 2023 with 2000, which included the hit single La Bachata. Turizo was brought up in a musical environment, as both his mother & younger brother are musicians. In his interviews, Turizo has stated that music is essential. As a child, he was instructed to perform on the guitar, piano and ukulele. Although his first choice of career was to become a veterinarian His brother Julian convinced him to take singing lessons with the help of a Cuban teacher. The end outcome of discovering his talents as a singer altered the course of his life.
